Product Description

3,3''-Diaminobenzidine, often abbreviated to DAB, is an organic compound primarily used in the immunohistochemical staining of proteins and nucleic acids. When oxidised by a peroxidase enzyme, DAB produces a dark brown colour. This mechanism has been used during research into cancer and Alzheimer's. DAB is also a precursor to polybenzimidazole - a fibre used for its thermal and chemical stability.
