Product Description

An antifungal and antiprotozoan that binds to membrane sterols, such as ergosterols. This forms holes in the cell membranes of fungi and yeast, causing the leakage of monovalent ions and subsequent cell death. Amphotericin B does not have the same effect on bacterial membranes, as they do not contain sterols.
