Tween 20, or polysorbate 20, is a nonionic surfactant used as a detergent and emulsifier in a number of biochemical applications. The molecule is formed of 20 repeating polyethylene glycol units, which are hydrophilic in nature, attached to a hydrophobic hydrocarbon tail.
